• It's a student favorite - a Sabrina Lentini Music Assembly for our TK-2nd graders (she's the John Yeiser 2.0 for those of you who have been at Hicks for a while)!  Brought to you by the PTO! 

Thursday, September 18th:

• Dinner at THE STAND! 25% of your bill goes back to HCE PTO! Grab some classmates and make a night of it - or stop by for lunch while the kids are in school! (Or both? Is that too much burger for one day? NO -it's NOT!)

Friday, September 19th:

• The final day of our Classroom Contest for membership! The class in EACH grade with the highest percentage of PTO members by midnight on Friday wins an Ice Pop party!  
  • You can see the leaderboard from last Friday on the front page of our website - and watch for Wednesday's "Hump Day Happenings" with the latest standings!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

• Teachers take their classes to visit the book fair during the school day, and students can also visit during their recess and after lunch.
• YOU can shop WITH your students before school (7:45 AM - 8:30 AM) or after school! And of course at Evening at the Book Fair next Thursday evening (4:30 - 7:30 PM) - where we'll have our Husky Gear Pop-Up shop too! 
  
  
• What we ask of YOU (the parents): 
  1. Provide your student(s) with either cash to bring to school to shop, OR load their "e-wallet" with Scholastic. If they have funds on their e-wallet, they simply tell our volunteers their name, and they will be able to shop with that credit.
  2. Make sure your student knows which method of payment they will be using. Our teachers are not always aware of who has funds on their e-wallet and who plans to use cash. 
  3. Volunteer with us for a shift! Shifts run throughout the school day in short blocks - and it's fun! 
  4. Consider picking up an extra book to donate to kids hospitalized at CHOC as we support Ethan & Choco's Book Club! There will be a donation box at checkout - let your student know or drop one in yourself! (Did you know Ethan is a TUSD student!? We're so proud of him and honored to support his Book Club!) 
  5. Did you receive a Scholastic Gift card as part of your PTO membership incentive? Remember, this card should be treated like cash - please bring it to the book fair - our Book Fair team can not look up your name or replace lost cards.

• The contest closes THIS Friday, September 19th at 11:59 PM. 
• One classroom from each grade will win. 
• Ice pop parties will take place between September 22 - October 3. 
• If your family has purchased a membership - it counts for ALL of your students' classes.
