All Month: 

  • Registration open for Tournament of Champions: Harvest Cup, Winter Bowl and Hoops Classic. See our Tournament of Champions page for more details. 

  • The Tustin Community Foundation is hosting their annual PAJAMA DRIVE- collecting NEW pajamas (adult, teen, child and baby) to be distributed to those in need in our community! Bring your pajamas in to the collection box in the front office no later than November 18th! 

 

Wednesday, October 15:

  • Join us for dinner at SHAKE SHACK (in the Marketplace) and the PTO gets 25% back! 

Thursday, October 16:

  • Ooooh, La, La! This one's for the girls! It's the Father/Daughter dance. Join us for an Evening in Paris in this magical night just for our favorite little ladies and their trusted adult! 6 PM in the Large MPR  (Please only one adult per family) Brought to you by the PTO

Monday, October 20 - Friday, October 24: 

  • 4th Graders are on their Walk Through California Journey! Brought to you by the PTO

  • We celebrate "Unity Week" all week - hosted by our school counselors! Together we accept others, spread kindness, and take a stand against bullying. 
    • Monday: "Better Together": Find someone to "twin" with!
    • Tuesday: "Team up Together": Wear your favorite sport jersey
    • Wednesday: Wear Orange for kindness
      - Students will join Ms. Loucks, Ms. Josie and Ms. J for a fun lunchtime activity! 
    • Thursday: "Let's Work it out together": Fitness gear day
    • Friday: Embrace your Husky Family - Wear your Husky Gear to show your love!

  • Sabrina Lentini is back for her 2nd (of 5!) Music Assemblies for our TK-2nd graders. Students will have a blast being part of the band, learning new songs, and taking a much needed dance-break in their day! Brought to you by the PTO! 

Thursday, October 23:

  • School Photo Makeup Day. Didn't nail that first round? You have another chance! (Uniforms are NOT required for students doing makeup picture day) To order: https://www.cantrellschoolphoto.com/ (use school code HKSF25) 

  • Chocolate and ChitChat! Our inaugural MOMS' night - welcoming all HCE moms (and mom figures). Join us for desserts and new friends at this casual event at the Northpark Clubhouse (10 Meadow Valley - just tell the gate you are here for HCE's Moms' Night!) from 7-9 PM. No rsvp needed. Brought to you by the PTO
    • What to bring: Your beverage of choice (we'll have desserts to share, but it's BYOB), and readiness to make some new friends! 
    • What to leave at home: Your kids (this one is adults only, please) and your fancy clothes - come as you are!

  • Deadline for birthday Marquee Greetings for NOVEMBER birthdays. Late adds will NOT be accommodated.

  • Our "HCE Community Programs" Team is excited to announce our first event of the year: The Operation Be Kind "Trunk or Treat" - a partnership with ICEC. We'll be helping to set up and host the organization's Trunk or Treat event on Saturday morning from 9 AM - noon. Click here for more info! Email Christine to rsvp. Please note: this is NOT an event for HCE students to trick-or-treat. We are volunteering for ICEC's event for children with special needs. 

Monday, October 27 - Thursday, October 30: 

  • TK Conference Week:  It's Minimum Day ALL week! Watch for details from your teacher to schedule your conference!

  • Red Ribbon Week Encouraging Healthy Choices for HCE students all week. Brought to you by the PTO!

Thursday, October 30: 

  • Students can wear costumes to school! 
    • No masks, costume accessories or weapons
    • Shoes must be comfortable and school-appropriate
    • Students must be able to sit/move easily in their costume
    • PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN ANY CANDY OR TREATS TO SHARE with classmates.  
    • No parents on campus (only TK and K have Halloween events). 

Friday, October 31: 

  • NO SCHOOL! Happy Halloween!

Sunday, November 2 

  • It's DINO DASH Day! This event is put on by Tustin Public Schools Foundation - and $10 from each HCE student/family registration goes RIGHT BACK TO HCE! Just make sure to write in Hicks Canyon Elementary when you REGISTER! 
    • On event morning - meet us at 8:30 AM in front of Dick's Sporting Goods for a big HCE team photo! (The 2k event starts at 9 AM. 5K runners start at 8 AM... so just run SUPER fast to meet us!) :)

  • Husky Gear Pop-Up Shop - shop after school from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM - right outside the school entrance.

  • Coffee with Admin (8:45 AM) 

  • PTO Meeting (9:30 AM) in the Small Multipurpose Room (you must check in at the front office before heading to the meeting) or call in using Google Meet. Get all the details. 
  • PBIS Pizza Party! These parties are hosted 3x/year by the PTO as a reward for students earning "Husky Points" in PBIS! Students can use their points to join for a special pizza lunch with Mrs. Fitch & Mrs. Vela... BINGO and of course... PRIZES!  Brought to you by the PTO!

Friday, November 14 

  • Team Kids Kickoff!

    Team Kids is a national school-based, student-led youth leadership program bringing together students with on-duty police officers, firefighters, mentors, and Team Kids local university intern volunteers. 4th and 5th grade students who wish to participate on the leadership team VOTE on local causes they want to amplify. Weekly school-wide challenges take place leading up to a CARNIVAL (Dec 12) with all proceeds benefiting a local charity of the leadership team’s choice!
