- Teachers (all grades) take their classes to visit the book fair during the school day, and upper grade students can also visit during their recess and after lunch.
- You can shop WITH your students before school (7:45 AM - 8:30 AM) or after school. And of course at Evening at the Book Fair on Thursday evening (details below).
- Teachers (all grades) take their classes to visit the book fair during the school day, and upper grade students can also visit during their recess and after lunch.
- What we ask of YOU (the parents):
- Provide your student(s) with either cash to bring to school to shop, OR load their "e-wallet" with Scholastic. If they have funds on their e-wallet, they simply tell our volunteers their name, and they will be able to shop with that credit.
- Make sure your student knows which method of payment they will be using. Our teachers are not aware of who has funds on their e-wallet and who plans to use cash.
- Prefer to shop with your student? You are not required to send money to school for them to shop on their own - consider shopping with them before school, after school or at Evening at the Book Fair!
- Volunteer with us for a shift! Shifts run throughout the school day in short blocks - and it's fun!
- Consider "rounding up" your purchase to the nearest dollar - those extra cents will go toward the "Share the Fair" fund - used to purchase books for our library and teacher wish lists!
- At this year's Book Fair - we will not be using pennies for payments! Cash payments will be rounded DOWN to the nearest 0 or 5 cents. Credit card and e-wallet payments will remain exact charge. Please DO NOT send your student with pennies to make payments.

- Our first Sabrina Lentini Assembly for our TK and Kindergarteners! This energetic assembly features music, dance, an intro to instruments and rhythm! Brought to you by the PTO. (Wait... didn't it used to be 1st and 2nd grade too? It did! But starting this year, 1st and 2nd graders will be having music class through the District - just like 3-5th graders! With this change, the PTO has expanded Sabrina Lentini's assemblies to be more interactive with smaller group sizes for our TK and Kinder friends - so they can have even more opportunities to learn through her presentations - allowing all of Hicks students to benefit from music instruction!)
