WHAT WE DO

FUNDING 

 

The PTO funds programs and opportunities for students that are NOT funded by the state or district. This includes:

 

Staff/Teacher Salary Support

- Teacher's Aides (Reading Intervention Specialists) 

- P.E. Program (P.E. Teacher and Noon Duty staff) 

 

Classroom Supplies and Materials

- Paper and copier materials

- Binder Reminders (grades 4-5) 

- Friday Folders (all grades) 

- Teacher Classroom Allowances (so that EVERY teacher can purchase supplies specific to their class) 

- Library Books

- Playground Equipment

 

Student Education and Programs

- Student iPad Software (ST Math, Freckle, Newsela, Seesaw, Brainpop, PBIS Rewards, Raz Kids) 

- Art Masters Program (K-5) 

- Sabrina Lentini Music Assemblies - 5x/year (TK- 2) 

- Walk Through California (4th Grade) 

- Walk through American Revolution (5th Grade)

- Field Trip expense support for all grades

- Outdoor Ed busses for 5th Grade

- Red Ribbon Week

 

Specialty Programs

- PBIS Store support and hosted Husky Pizza Parties

- Robotics Club

- Intra-district athletics: Running Club, Track & Volleyball teams

- Tournament of Champions Sports (Volleyball, Flag Football, Basketball and Soccer)

- Musical Theater and Talent Show

- Coffee with Admin

- No-Cost Family Nights and Events (Dances, Bingo, Donuts with Loved Ones, etc.) 

- 5th Grade Events (Puberty Talks, DARE, Promotion and more) 

 

 

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

 

The PTO also organizes volunteers to ensure that both students and families have resources and programs that otherwise would NOT happen without PTO involvement: 

- Wednesday After School Programs (Grades 1-5) 

- Scholastic Book Fair

- Yearbook

- PTO social media channels - sharing "news you can use" (follow us on Facebook and Instagram)!

- PTO website updated with relevant information (Including our Husky Happenings page - continually updated so you can be in the know about what's coming up) 

- PTO Newsletters (Tails from the Bark Side) every Monday and Hump Day Happenings on Wednesday

- Hard Copy monthly calendars distributed to families each month

How to support

The PTO is funded through individual donations from families and community support.

1) Become a MEMBER of the PTO! 

• As a member of the PTO, you'll be supporting all of the incredible programs the PTO offers which WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE without the support of our HCE families.
• Visit our membership page to learn more about the benefits of being a member! 

2) Check if your employer offers MATCHING GIFTS.

This can make your donation go twice as far! Did you submit your matching gift forms? Let us know at treasurer@hickscanyon.org so we can be sure to watch for it! 

 

3) Become a sponsor!
