Welcome to Hicks Canyon PTO!
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Hicks Canyon Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) strives to:
a. Develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging family involvement.
b. Enhance the educational and social experience of our students by providing volunteer and financial support for academic and enrichment activities.
WHAT WE DO
The PTO funds programs and opportunities for students that are NOT funded by the state or district.
This includes:
- Teacher's Aides (Reading Intervention Specialist)
- Student iPad Software (ST Math, Lexia, Newsela, Seesaw, Brainpop, PBIS Rewards, Raz Kids)
- P.E. Program (P.E. Teacher and Noon Duty staff)
- Classroom Support Supplies (including paper and copier materials, Binder Reminders, Friday Folders and teacher classroom allowances)
- Field Trip expense support for all grades and Outdoor Ed busses for 5th Grade
- PBIS Store support and Husky Pizza Parties
- Walk through American Revolution (5th Grade) & Walk Through California (4th Grade)
- Student Assemblies
- Playground Equipment
- Library Books
- Robotics Club
- Running Club, Track & Volleyball
- Tournament of Champions Sports
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- Red Ribbon Week
- Musical Theater and Talent Show
- No-Cost Family Nights and Events (Dances, Bingo, Movie Nights, Donuts with Loved Ones, etc.)
- 5th Grade Events (Puberty Talks, DARE, Promotion and more)
The PTO also organizes volunteers to ensure that both students and families have resources and programs that otherwise would not happen without PTO involvement:
- Wednesday After School Programs (Grades 1-5)
- Scholastic Book Fair
- Yearbook
- PTO social media channels - sharing "news you can use" (follow us on Facebook and Instagram)!
- PTO website updated with relevant information (Including our Husky Happenings page - continually updated so you can be in the know about what's coming up!)
- PTO Newsletters (Tails from the Bark Side) every Monday
- Hard Copy monthly calendars distributed to families each month!
How to support
The PTO is funded through individual donations from families and community support.
1) Become a MEMBER of the PTO!
- As a member of the PTO, you'll be supporting all of the incredible programs the PTO offers which WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE without the support of our HCE families.
- Visit our membership page to learn more about the benefits of being a member!
2) Check if your employer offers MATCHING GIFTS.
This can make your donation go twice as far! Did you submit your matching gift forms? Let us know at treasurer@hickscanyon.org so we can be sure to watch for it!
3) Become a sponsor!

4) Support our ongoing fundraising programs and cause-marketing campaigns!
