Today

Registration is open for TPSF Summer Academy. Note that the grade levels are based on your grade for NEXT year (so a current TK student will register for a Kinder class in summer academy). There are programs for Kinder through High School!
The LAST day to reserve a "birthday book" for your Husky (for birthdays through the end of the school year!) The deadline was technically last Friday - but they will accept through today because they are awesome.

Today & Tuesday

Vision and Hearing Testing for grades TK, K, 2 & 5 (hosted by TUSD). We're still looking for just one more volunteer for the 8 AM - 10 AM shift tomorrow!Jump in if you can help for that block!

Wednesday

Our fourth Sabrina Lentini music assembly (grades TK-2nd)! Brought to you by the PTO.
Husky Hustle t-shirt sales & Husky Gear "bargain bin": After school from 12:30 - 3 PM at the front gates. We'll also have Headbands & Bows from "Husky Style" and a few more goodies for sale! It's also a great day to check the lost and found for any missing items!
Restaurant Night at The STAND! Order ahead - use coupon code HICKSCANYON at checkout and the PTO will benefit! Be sure to show the flier if you order in store.

Friday

PTO Meeting (10 AM) in the Small Multipurpose Room (you must check in at the front office before heading to the meeting) or call in using Google Meet. Get all the details.
We will also have Husky Hustle shirts available for sale after the PTO meeting - stop by if you need one!
It's the Hustle Award Challenge #5 - this one goes to the class with the MOST students wearing a Husky Hustle t-shirt to school on Friday! (Need a shirt? Grab one on Wednesday!)

Saturday & Sunday

Tournament of Champions - Hoops Classic. Stay tuned for the tournament schedule to come cheer on our Huskies!

Scholastic Book Fair

SIX full days of "we're open" fair hours (including before and after school), a hoppin' Night at the Book Fair, and 34 classrooms visiting for shopping time! The Spring Scholastic Book Fair was a smashing success!

Thank you to all of the HCE families who not only shopped for their students, but emptied teacher "wish list" boxes to provide books for the classrooms!
We are so grateful to the 30+ volunteers who took shifts to cover the fair - keeping it running smoothly all week!
Major kudos to our amazing Book Fair Leadership team - training cashiers, submitting restock orders midweek, scheduling class visits and all the behind-the-scenes management that goes into an event this size!

Thank you to ALL who played a part in making this such a success!

Did you know that JUST THIS YEAR thanks to the purchases made at the Book Fair - the PTO has been able to use "Scholastic Bucks" to provide:

- The "Scholastic News" classroom materials and mini-magazines that you see come home in Friday folders.

- More than $4,500 of books for the school library

- $2,000 in books gifted directly to teachers for their classrooms

- $550 in gift cards for students - earned through Husky Hustle fundraising and membership incentives

Hustle Award - Challenge #4 Winners!

Congratulations to MRS. HUBBARD'S 3rd grade class for winning the 4th Hustle Challenge Award! They had the highest % of their class with students who have sent out "easy emails" from their fundraising website - AWESOME! We delivered their trophy and goodie bags for each student from ANTHILL shopNplay this morning!

Challenge #5 is up next - this one goes to the class that has the MOST students wearing a HUSKY HUSTLE t-shirt to school THIS FRIDAY! Let's see who comes out on top! (Need a shirt? Grab one at Wednesday's sale!)

CHARMS FAQ

Every student in the school will receive a bracelet to hold charms (no necklaces this year!) We recommend snapping it on to a backpack - not wearing it as jewelry. If a student loses their bracelet, we are not able to replace it. You can pick up a new one here... or just use another bracelet, necklace or string!
Deliveries are based on funds recorded by SUNDAY NIGHT. Our volunteers visit classrooms throughout the week - but all deliveries are based on donations from Sunday night. If you make a donation on Tuesday, the charm will be delivered NEXT week.
We have different volunteers handling each class - it's possible siblings in different classrooms may not get charms on the same day. Please be patient and wait until the end of the week to reach out to our Husky Hustle team if you think you didn't receive yours.
Charms will not be replaced if lost. This is announced to students in class as they are delivered, at the pep assemblies, and in the Hustle Report videos shown in class. Please encourage your student to keep them safe with their backpacks - and not bring them to recess or lunch.

Reach $500 between Feb 26 - March 24: Choose a book from our Treasure Box! (Students who reached this level prior to Feb 26 received a gift card to the Book Fair!)
