CELEBRATE YOUR HUSKY - Birthdays at HCE!
Birthday Marquee:
AUGUST BIRTHDAYS ARE CLOSED - do not purchase a greeting for an August Birthday.
Wish your Husky a Happy Birthday (or Half-Birthday!) with their name in lights on the HCE marquee board!
- The deadline to purchase a greeting is on the 25th of the month PRIOR to the celebration date. (For example, if your child's birthday is November 10th... you must purchase the marquee message no later than October 25th.) Late adds can NOT be accommodated.
- Note: Some months - the deadline is EARLIER than the 25th if there are holiday days at the end of the month! Don't wait until the month before to schedule this for your child - you can schedule this months in advance and you don't have to worry about it later!
- YOU choose the date that the sign will display! (Not going to be in school on their actual birthday? You choose!)
- No customized messages. All messages will read "Happy Birthday" with the child's name or nickname.
Birthday Book Club
With a donation of $25... your Husky will choose a book from a cart of new, pre-selected and vetted books. The librarians will add a nameplate in the front of the book noting your Husky's name and that this book was donated to the HCE library in their honor! Your Husky will be the first to check out the book before returning it for students to enjoy for years to come.
- A special book plate will be placed inside the donated book recognizing your child.
- Your child will have their photo taken with the book to be displayed in the library (the photo will be sent home at the end of the year for you to enjoy!)
- Your child will be the first one to check out the book from the library- presented to your child at a Friday pep assembly in their birthday month.
- Sign ups are accepted through February 27. Don't wait until your child's birthday month to sign up... sign up early and we'll hold the book for their birthday (or half-birthday for summer birthdays) month.
- Contact our librarians Mrs. Josserand and Mrs. Sento with questions
Celebrating your Husky's birthday with their Class:
The info below is from the school handbook - provided by the school (and linked here).
"We understand that birthdays are very special to children. However, we do not allow birthday parties to be celebrated at school. Our first priority is to ensure that all students learn, so instructional time will be spent for instructional purposes. Please do not send in food items. Non-food options may be sent to school with your child to celebrate your child’s special day and distributed at dismissal time. Some options may include sending party favor bags or individual items such as bookmarks, pens, stickers, etc."
