ALL WEEK:

• It's the SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR! Brought to you by the PTO
  • Teachers take their classes to visit the book fair during the school day, and students can also visit during their recess and after lunch.
  • You can shop WITH your students before school (7:45 AM - 8:30 AM) or after school (open for the 30 minutes after dismissal). And of course at Evening at the Book Fair on Thursday evening (details below).
     
  • What we ask of YOU (the parents): 
    1. Provide your student(s) with either cash to bring to school to shop, OR load their "e-wallet" with Scholastic. If they have funds on their e-wallet, they simply tell our volunteers their name, and they will be able to shop with that credit.
    2. Make sure your student knows which method of payment they will be using. Our teachers are not always aware of who has funds on their e-wallet and who plans to use cash. 
    3. Volunteer with us for a shift! Shifts run throughout the school day in short blocks - and it's fun! 
    4. Consider picking up an extra book to donate to kids hospitalized at CHOC as we support Ethan & Choco's Book Club! There will be a donation box at checkout - let your student know or drop one in yourself! (Did you know Ethan is a TUSD student!? We're so proud of him and honored to support his Book Club.) 
    5. Did you receive a Scholastic Gift card as part of your PTO membership incentive? Remember, this card should be treated like cash - please bring it to the book fair - our Book Fair team can not look up your name or replace lost cards. 

Thursday, September 25th: 

• It's the deadline for birthday Marquee Greetings for OCTOBER birthdays. Late adds will NOT be accommodated - no exceptions.
  
  
• Evening at the Book Fair: Shop as a family from 4:30 - 7:30 PM
  • Our Husky Gear Pop-Up Shop will be open too! Grab some new designs or your grade level shirt (available in all sizes - we're restocked). 
  • Visit with some of our PTO sponsors:
    • Stop by the Updike Orthodontics booth for some popcorn to snack on while you shop!
    • Visit with Magikids Irvine to learn more about their robotics programs! 

Friday, September 26th: 

• Kona Ice will be on campus! 2 PM - 3:15... bring $5 for a Kona Ice treat after school to kick off the weekend... and hit the Book Fair for the last chance to shop!

Our PTO Membership Contest closed Friday night - and it was a CLOSE race to the finish (dang... there were some heartbreak 2nd place sprints out there)! 

We're excited to reward our top classes with ICE POPS in the next weeks to enjoy the sweet taste of VICTORY!

THANK YOU to all who have joined as members - we so appreciate your support. Remember - it's not all about the ice pops... it's about the incredible programming that YOUR membership makes happen through the year! THANK YOU ALL! 

Our apologies! Due to a database glitch - a few names didn't pull over on our membership report before this morning's announcement. But after a little rework - we have some new info! 

Mrs. Nams class WAS indeed our TK winner - but we're excited to reward BOTH classes (Nam and Graham) with ice pop parties - as both had the highest averages in the whole school - with an ending difference of only 1%! (83% and 84%!) 

And Mrs. Martin's class TIED with Mrs. Pessy! BOTH classes earned those pops!

In fact... it's NEVER too late! You can become a member of the PTO with your donation whenever it works best for YOU. Our husky backpack buddies will be delivered to new members WEEKLY moving forward - they go into your teacher's mailbox and they get them to your student. Remember, payment plan options are available too!
